We are very proud that our students consistently win placements in major West Australian and Australian Art Awards, including the the Black Swan Youth Award, the Shaun Tan Award for Young Artists and the Archibald Prize for Youth Portraiture.
The Black Swan Youth Award is a prestigious national portraiture prize which encourages the creative talents of young aspiring and emerging artists. It allows them to showcase unique perspectives and builds confidence to further their art practices. It is open to all high school students across Australia an inclusive of adolescence in care at Perth Children’s Hospital.
The Young Archibald Award celebrates artistic creativity and is hosted annually at the Art Gallery of NSW. It invites artists between the ages of 5 to 18 to submit a portrait that will be judged on merit and originality. Submitting artworks for competitions like this, prepares our students for future aspirations, such as exhibiting in the highly acclaimed Archibald Award.
